Terms

Last updated: 2026-11-02

These terms cover the Hello Meal Telegram bot (@hello_meal_bot) and its Mini App at https://hello-meal-tg.gpm.name. Using either means accepting them.

What Hello Meal is

A bot for cooking in batches: you choose what you will eat, and it puts the recipes into one cooking session with the steps in order and the timers running, then counts the portions in the fridge and the freezer. It is a record of what you tell it, and a schedule worked out from it. Nothing it shows is advice. The schedule is a suggestion. Calories, protein and the other nutrition values are estimates, built from tables of common foods and from what you enter, and are marked as such. How long food keeps in the fridge or the freezer is an estimate too, not food-safety advice: whether something is safe to eat is your judgement, not the bot’s. The bot gives no dietary or medical advice and has no opinion about a number.

Nutrition values

Calories, protein, carbohydrates and fat per portion are the sum of the ingredients divided by the portions. They are an estimate, and are written with “≈”. Each number says how much of the recipe it covers, such as “7 of 8 ingredients”; an ingredient with no value is left out and named, not guessed. Each ingredient takes its values from a value you typed, else from the Open Food Facts entry of a product you confirmed, else from a table of common foods (USDA FoodData Central, for raw food and for basics as sold, with canned legumes and tuna counted drained). Amounts in millilitres count as grams, and a piece needs a known weight, so a number can be off. It is for someone who already knows what they want. Do not use it to decide a diet, a medicine or anything medical: it is not advice, and the goals you can set are a figure you chose, not a recommendation. Values from Open Food Facts are information from that database, made available under its ODbL licence, as the privacy policy says.

What it costs

The bot is free to use within the limits listed on the home page. Pro removes those limits and adds the things listed there, and is paid in Telegram Stars, either 150 Stars a month or 1500 Stars for a year.

The monthly plan lasts 30 days and is a real subscription: it renews itself until you cancel it, and cancelling is done in Telegram’s settings rather than here. The yearly plan is not a subscription and does not renew: it is one payment for a year, after which the account goes back to the free plan on its own. Buying a year while a month is still running adds the year on top of what is left rather than replacing it.

Stars are Telegram’s, not mine: they are bought from Telegram and the charge is Telegram’s. Pro purchases are recorded in apps-management under the Telegram payment identifier. Refunds are possible while Telegram allows them for a given payment; ask at apps@gpm.name.

Cancelling stops the renewal. Pro runs until the date it was paid up to.

No warranty

The bot is provided as it is, without warranty of any kind. It is run on one server by one person; it can be down, and a message can be lost. A timer that does not ring is a failure of the service, not a reason to leave food on the heat: do not rely on it for anything that matters for safety.

Keep your own copy of anything you cannot afford to lose. Pro includes an export of your data.

Hello Meal can be linked to those two bots, but not yet: the links come after the first release, one at a time. A link exists only after you ask for it and the other bot asks you to confirm, and it acts with your rights there and no more. What a link reads and writes is in the privacy policy. The other bot is a separate service with its own terms. If it is down, Hello Meal keeps working with what it has, and what it could not send waits and is sent again. If the other bot refuses a write, the portions stay in Hello Meal.

Your data is yours

Whatever you write down stays yours. It is not sold, not shared and not used to train anything. What is stored and what is not is in the privacy policy.

Homes shared with other people

A home can be shared with other people, with Pro. The owner of a home decides who is in it, and can remove members and delete the home for everybody, at once and for good. Everybody in a home, viewers included, can read what is in it; editors can change it. Your goals are yours alone. Do not invite anybody who has not asked to be there. Nobody is added to a home without accepting.

Acceptable use

Do not use the bot to break the law, and do not try to reach data that is not yours or to knock the service over. Automated use that degrades it for other people is not allowed.

Access can be withdrawn where one of those happens. Where that leaves a paid subscription unused, the unused part is refunded.

Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, I am not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for lost profit, or for a decision taken on the basis of what the bot showed you. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited: death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, and the rights you have as a consumer.

Availability and changes

Features can change and the service can be discontinued. If it is discontinued, notice will be given in the bot and on this site with enough time to export your data, and any subscription running at that point is refunded for its unused part.

Governing law

Italian law, and the courts of Rome, Italy. If you are a consumer this does not take away the protection of the mandatory rules of the country you live in.
